International Women's Day High Tea

Tuesday, March 5, 2019 | 14h00 - 15h30 | Perley Rideau Cafeteria

Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the 2nd Annual #InternationalWomensDay High Tea at the Perley Rideau! Your generous giving raised funds to support resident Priority Needs, and demonstrated the true spirit of #honourandcare.

Over 200 guests listened to inspiring words from Jody Thomas, the Deputy Minister of the Department of National Defence, and Maj. (ret'd) Sandra Perron, Canada's first female infantry officer.

The beautiful voices of the Canadian Military Wives Choir Ottawa and the Army Voices Choir serenaded the room, with their stirring renditions of old and new classics alike.

Special shawls handmade by Mylène Levesque were presented to some of the Perley Rideau's newest Women Veterans. Guests had the opportunity to let all of the Women Veterans in attendance know just how much their courage and sacrifice mean to women in all avenues of life today.

Thank you to our generous sponsors Beechwood Cemetery and Commissionaires Ottawa. Your support made this event possible.

Be sure to save the date for the 3rd Annual International Women's Day High Tea, March 3rd 2020!
